The House of the Samurai Londonderry has been offering instruction in the martial arts since 1974. We are located in the southern New Hampshire town of Londonderry.

Hanshi Bernard is a 8th Degree, Hanshi Chief Grand Master Instructor Grade Black Belt. He and his senior student, Ms. Louise Zalanskas, a 6th Degree Kyoshi Grand Master Instructor Grade Black Belt, were inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 1994. Mr. Bernard and all of his staff hold multiple Black Belts in a variety of martial arts styles. Mr. Bernard is also one of but a few practitioners to receive the title of Uchi-Deshi, a Special Apprentice specifically selected to receive his system's innermost secrets and traditions to insure its continued perpetuation.
Mr. Bernard graduated from Merrimack College with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration. He also graduated from the N.H. Police Academy at the age of 42, first in his class academically. He is employed as a part-time patrol officer by the Bedford Police Department, and is also a Special Deputy with the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department. Mr. Bernard is quite active in the local business community and has served on the Board of Directors of the Londonderry Rotary Club, the Londonderry and Derry Chambers of Commerce, and the Derry Boys' and Girls' Club.
